Hometown Heroes July 15

U.S. Air Force A1C Blake R. Harris graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Harris earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Carole Harris and step-son of Allan Hill of Lancaster, Calif. The airman is also the brother of Brett Harris and grandson of June and Richard Harris, all of Phoenix, Ariz., and grandson of Donald Loos of Bakersfield, Calif.

Harris graduated in 2012 from Heritage Oak School, Tehachapi, Calif.
