Antelope Valley veterans received a special thank you for their service Nov. 14 when a local restaurant offered all veterans a meal of their choice, on the house.
Claim Jumper, a popular restaurant located in the Antelope Valley Mall, welcomed America’s war fighters, young and old, from all branches of the military and thanked them for their service the only way the local eatery knows how, all veterans ate for free.
The event was a big success as the restaurant was quickly filled with veterans of the Desert Storm, Vietnam, the Cold War and even one World War II former Army sergeant.
The friendly servers greeted each veteran with a hardy, “Thank you for your service!”
Former Navy veteran Mike Woods, a Vietnam veteran said he appreciates being appreciated.
“We got treated terrible back then, it’s only been since 1992 that we’ve been honored,” he said.
It was a feel good night for our vets who appreciated the gesture and openly appeared proud to be an American veteran.
