The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System is hosting an Open House for Veterans at the Lancaster Community Based Outpatient Clinic located on 340 East Avenue I, Suite 108 in Lancaster, Calif., 10 a.m.-2 p.m., April 11.
Veterans and family members can receive information about VA specialty programs, local job opportunities and healthcare enrollment.
“The open house is a one-stop shop for Veterans in the Antelope Valley area,” said Charles Green, chief of outreach. “Every year the event has grown bigger attracting more vendors and more Veterans.”
VA Lancaster physicians, nurses and social workers will meet with eligible veterans to discuss their healthcare needs.
VA representatives from MyHealtheVet, patient education resource center, weight loss programs, National Cemetery and veteran benefits personnel are some of the few VA vendors rounding out the list of participants.
“We want to continue bringing community partners, local VA resources and veterans together to provide benefits and services to assist our nation’s heroes,” Green said. “This is a wonderful opportunity for family members to learn about services and support available to them as well.”
Veterans can enjoy giveaways, free lunch and, as a bonus, veterans in the healthcare system who brings a fellow veteran who gets enrolled, will receive a special gift bag.
