Some eight years ago Lancaster, Calif., resident Alexis Gillespie brought several young students from I Lead Lancaster Charter School to the William J. “Pete” Knight Veterans Home to share in some Trick or Treat fun with the local resident veterans.
“By the third year the word was out and everybody wanted to come,” said Gillespie. She said as a result, what started out as a nice gesture soon became a regular event.
This Halloween children from several local schools joined in the fun and shared their trick-or-treating fun with the residents of the local veterans’ home.
