VSS Unity completes first powered flight

Virgin Galactic announced a major step forward April 5 when SpacShipTwo VSS Unity safely and successfully completed her first supersonic, rocket-powered flight. A U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds pilot was killed when his F-16 Fighting Falcon crashed at the Nevada Test and Training Range at approximately 10:30 a.m., April 4.
The Air Force has identified the pilot as Maj. Stephen Del Bagno the No. 4 jet. Del Bagn hailed from Valencia, Calif.
