U.S. Navy photo

Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Nine Operational Test Director Capt. Scott Fisher (center) poses with four newly frocked Vampires, (l to r) Aviation Machinist’s Mate First Class Dwayne Rohrer, Aviation Electrician’s Mate First Class Michael Whitehead, Aviation Electronics Technician First Class Keven Swensen and Aviation Ordnanceman Second Class Grant Prader.  Fisher recently had the pleasure of frocking the men during a special ceremony held at VX-9 onboard the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, Calif.  It is a Navy tradition for an authorized selectee to assume the title and wear the uniform of the next rank prior to the Sailor’s formal promotion.  Frocked Sailors are assigned greater responsibility and authority.
