Jeff Prevost, right, of the NAWCWD Weapons and Energetics Department, gives scientists and engineers from ATK a tour of the Weapons Dynamic Test Facility at the China Lake Propulsion Laboratories on July 11. The NAWCWD Weapons and Energetics Department hosted the ATK folks on July 10-11 at China Lake for a professional exchange. This was the first exchange with ATK and was modeled after the program that NAWCWD has had in place with Raytheon for several years. The goal is to enhance relationships, and show industry engineers what NAWCWD’s capabilities and responsibilities are. The visitors from ATK heard a command overview as well as a Weapons 101 overview. They were taken on one-on-one tours with their NAWCWD counterparts, and also visited the Weapons Prototype Facility, the Propulsion Research Laboratory, and Pearson Laboratory.
