2012 Air Force Assistance Fund kick-off breakfast

Davis-Monthan AFB will kick off our AFAF season with a breakfast March 26 at the Mirage Club, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Come join us for a traditional breakfast buffet of scrambled eggs, biscuits and all the fixings. Share in camaraderie with base leadership and fellow personnel assigned to Davis-Monthan and hear firsthand accounts of how the Air Force Assistance Fund has personally touched the lives of our fellow co-workers and friends. The deadline to sign-up is March 21! Please sign up with your Unit Program Officer.

Have you ever ridden a trikke, handcycle or tandem-bicycle? Shot a paintball gun? Do you know about ALL the camping and boating gear Outdoor Receation has to offer? Spring to Bama Park where ODR will be show-casing all of their equipment. Try out our new ‘toys’ and learn about all the different programs ODR has to offer! Free food and prize give-a-ways will be available! (while supplies last)

 

Community Center UGT (You Got Talent)

April 21, 1 – 4 p.m., Youth Center

Family and teen talent competition! Compete in one of six catagories. For more information, call the Community Center at 228-3500.

 

Auto Hobby Shop: Basic Auto Prevention Maintenance Classes

April 7, 10-11 a.m., $5 (5 students max.)

Learn basic auto maintenance. The class is a great way to expose new drivers to basic maintenance tasks.

 

5K Fun Run

On March 23 at 10 a.m., Tech. Sgt. Eric Griggs, 25th Operational Weather Squadron, is chairing a festive 5K Fun Run at Sunglow Rd. in celebration of Women’s History Month. All Desert Lightning Team members, spouses, and children are welcome and encouraged to attend. Griggs can be contacted at 228-7650.

 

Scheduled power outage

On March 28 there will be an electrical outage along Yuma Road east of Taxiway E for approximately 1 hour between the hours of 7 – 8 a.m. impacting the new Contractor’s yard, Site 5, the dog kennels, the horse stables and the gun range. If there are any other concerns on the day of the outage please contact the CE service desk at 228-3171.

 

Society of Military Widows to meet

The Society of Military Widows will meet for business meeting, luncheon and program at noon, the 3rd Saturday of the month at Atria Bell Court Gardens,6653 E. Carondelet. Please, make your reservations to Virginia Lind Sanborn 721-8091, two weeks prior to the meeting.
