Contracting Squadron to host annual Procurement Fair and Small Business Outreach

The 355th Contracting Squadron is scheduled to host the 14th Annual Southern Arizona Procurement Fair and Small Business Outreach April 20 at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium.  Each year the Air Force issues small and disadvantaged business program goals for major commands that in turn flow goals to individual bases.

Although the 355th Contracting Squadron tracks and manages these goals for the wing commander, everyone that uses products and services on the base either benefit or contribute to successfully reaching and exceeding these goals. The 355th Contracting Squadron takes these goals seriously and strive to reach small businesses by fostering communication and outreach programs such as the Southern Arizona Procurement Fair and Small Business Outreach.

In previous years, this event has been held at Pima Air and Space Museum and Old Tucson Studios, however, this year it is being held in town at the Kino Sports Complex, home of the Tucson Padres (whose representatives are scheduled to attend). Currently, businesses representing many different categories from landscaping, roofing, fencing, outerwear, professional gear, office supplies, redwood playground equipment, and the Arizona Fish and Game Department are scheduled to attend. The best part of the event is that these vendors will all be in the same place looking for your business.

There will be door prizes and most of the vendors will have samples to give away. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ballpark food will be on sale throughout the day.  For more information, contact Small Business Specialist, Mrs. Joanne Squire at 228-3131.
