Annual Build-Boat Competition

The 2012 Build-a-Boat competition is scheduled for May 24 at the Outdoor Rec pool. Squadrons must be present with their full crew to register nlt 8 a.m. on May 24. Boat building will be from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m., Wing Safety will inspect all water craft at 9:30 a.m., and the race will begin at 9:45 a.m. For more information, contact 228-3500.

Gate Closure

The Wilmot Gate will be closed until July 9. 29 Bravo will be open from 5:30 – 9 a.m. during the closure.

Outdoor Rec trip to Wyatt Earp Days in Tombstone

Sunday, May 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In honor of the West’s most famous lawman, Tombstone put together great activities such as; a chili cook off, hangings, gunfights, skits, street entertainment, look-alike contests, and an 1880’s fashion show – events you don’t want to miss. Cost is $12 for ages 18 and older, $8 for those 17 and younger. Sign-up by May 21. For more information, call 228-3736.

Registration for swim lessons

Registration will be held at the Outdoor Recreational Pool beginning May 28 for summer swim lessons. Payment is due on the first day of class. Each class will be 45 minutes long for a two week period, Tuesday thru Saturday. Class Times: 8-8:45am, 9-9:45 a.m., and 10-10:45 a.m. For more information call the Outdoor Pool at 228-3759 or contact the lifeguard staff at the Indoor Pool at 228-0015.

Society of Military Widows to meet

The Society of Military Widows will meet for business meeting, luncheon and program at noon, the 3rd Saturday of the month at Atria Bell Court Gardens, 6653 E. Carondelet. Please, make your reservations to Virginia Lind Sanborn
