Hawgsmoke 2012 comes to D-M

The 355th Fighter Wing will host 18 A-10 squadrons and teams from around the world for the 7th biannual bombing and tactical gunnery competition known as Hawgsmoke Aug. 15-17, 2012.

The competition focuses on A-10 tactics such as moving target strafe techniques, GPS-out navigation, and degraded weapons delivery. Both the individual and team portions of the competition are conducted and evaluated at the Barry M. Goldwater Range and the Gila Bend Auxiliary Field.

Hawgsmoke 2010 was hosted by the Idaho National Guard’s 190th Fighter Squadron. D-M finished 2nd in Idaho, earning the honor of hosting the 2012 competition.
