Partners Pre-School Program

Borman Elementary School at Davis-Monthan AFB will offer a new part-time pre-school program for children ages 3-5. The Partners Pre-School Program works to create a comprehensive and high-quality early childhood model that supports and promotes engaging, developmentally appropriate and positive early education for preschoolers in an inclusive setting. Applications are currently being accepted for typically developing children (special needs spaces are already full). Children must live in TUSD and be eligible for the free and reduced price lunch (FRPL) program. Applications can be obtained at the TUSD Exceptional Education Early Childhood Office, located at 750 N. Rosemont. Tucson AZ. For more information, call 232-8375.

Household Hazardous Materials

The Hazmart manages the Household Hazardous Materials storage area. The program was established so personnel who are doing a PCS, or no longer need new or partially used household hazardous materials, ie, bleach, chlorine tables, oils, cleaning supplies, can bring them to the Hazmart, located in Bldg. 5227. We will check them for serviceability and stock the shelves. These items are provided to base personnel at no cost on a first come, first serve basis. Please call us at 228-5588 or visit us at Bldg. 5227.

Thrift Shop Moving

The Davis-Monthan Thrift Shop is relocating in August to Bldg. 1226 with a Grand Opening on Saturday, Aug. 4. The Thrift Shop is closed for the month of July, but donations can be dropped off at the current location, Bldg. 4201 until Aug. 4. After Aug. 4, all consignments and donations will be at the new location. If you have any questions, please call the Thrift Shop at 228-2120.

Free Issue and Hazardous Materials/Waste minimization

The Hazmart has a “Free Issue” storage area. The hazardous materials are new and serviceable but have been returned because they are either excess or are no longer required by the shops. These items have already been paid for and shops that are authorized and could use the hazardous materials will not be charged. Please remind your shops of the Free Issue storage area and also remind them to only order the minimum amount of materials needed to do the job. This avoids wasting expired hazardous materials.
