MDG providing sports physical appointments

Lt. Col. William Fecke
355th Medical Group

As the 2012-2013 school year quickly approaches, children may need to get a school or sports physical. The 355th Medical Group is working hard to meet this need by modifying the daily schedule to make appointments available.

We continue to have open duty day appointments, so your best and fastest option is to call 228-2778 and schedule an appointment with your medical team. You can also schedule appointments online at www.tricareonline.com and search for the next available school physical appointment. If your child had a physical exam at the 355th MDG within the past year, you can drop off the school paperwork at the check-in desk and it will be completed and ready for pick-up within three business days.

As an added bonus, the 355th MDG is hosting a school and sports physical event August 18. The school and sports physical event will be for children 5 to 18-years-old. To minimize delays, visits on this Saturday will be for school and sport physicals only.

Because we have built our schedule to accomplish as many sports physicals as possible, no other medical concerns can be addressed. Children with asthma, cardiac issues, head injuries in the last two years, or other chronic medical conditions should make a regular appointment with their medical team.

Patients should arrive 30 minutes prior to their appointment to complete a pre-screening questionnaire and check-in prior to being assessed by the medical provider. Bring your child’s shot record and any paperwork required by your school district and have it completed prior to the appointment. To schedule an appointment, call (520) 228-2778.
