Free Issue and Hazardous Materials/Waste minimization

The Hazmart has a “Free Issue” storage area. The hazardous materials are new and serviceable but have been returned because they are either excess or are no longer required by the shops. These items have already been paid for and shops that are authorized and could use the hazardous materials will not be charged. Please remind your shops of the Free Issue storage area and also remind them to only order the minimum amount of materials needed to do the job. This avoids wasting expired hazardous materials.

Household Hazardous Materials

The Hazmart manages the Household Hazardous Materials storage area. The program was established so personnel who are doing a PCS, or no longer need new or partially used household hazardous materials, ie, bleach, chlorine tables, oils, cleaning supplies, can bring them to the Hazmart, located in Bldg. 5227. We will check them for serviceability and stock the shelves. These items are provided to base personnel at no cost on a first come, first serve basis. Please call us at 228-5588 or visit us at Bldg. 5227.
