Employment Workshop- Be Prepared! 

Sept. 5, 9 a.m.-Noon – Airman & Family Readiness Center

The A&FRC Employment Workshop will cover topics such as writing a resume, interview suggestions and take you on a tour of USA jobs. Our staff has been trained in the latest developments when applying for employment. Please RVSP at 228-5690.

 

Power Outage

Sept. 8, 6 a.m.-6 p.m.

The following buildings will be affected: 4826, 4809, 4800, 4810, 4710, 5607, 5605, 5430, 5423, 5421, 5251, the sunshades, 206, 205, 204, 208, the GATR Site, North End Barrier Pits Primary

and Secondary, REIL Lights, PAPI’s North End,306, 304, 313, 338, PAPI’s South End, PAR, 13203, Barrier Pits South End Primary and Secondary, and the Dump Monitoring Site. Any questions can be directed to Jessie Davis at (520) 228-2173.

 

DM Thrift Shop to hold Grand Opening

DM Thrift Shop Sept. 8, 9 a.m.- noon

The Grand Opening will feature the K.C. Monroe Band. The new location is 5085 Flora Street, Bldg. 1226. Consignments are now being taken Tuesday 9 a.m. – noon, Wednesday 9 a.m. – noon and the 1st Saturday of the month 9 a.m. – noon. Donations can be dropped off at the donation room at any time. Give Parents a Break 

Sept. 15, from noon- 4 p.m.

The next Give Parent’s a Break will be held Sept. 15, from noon- 4 p.m. at the D-M CDC. For more information, call 228-5690.

 

Baby Basics 

Sept. 19, 10-11:30 a.m. – Airman & Family Readiness Center

Baby Basics is for military members and their spouses who are expecting a baby and are in their third trimester. Topics include the importance of budgeting, parenting skills, child safety and more. Participants receive a free baby bundle full of items. Please RVSP at 228-5690.

 

Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage

Sept. 21, 1-2:30 p.m. – Airman & Family Readiness Center

Join us for this entertaining video series focused on improving your marriage. This session is entitled “The Tale of Two Brains.” Excellent workshop for improving communication skills. Please RVSP at 228-5690.

Volunteers are needed in a variety of areas on D-M and in the local community. Volunteering is an excellent way to become involved with the community, increase mentorship skills and enhance career growth.

Household Hazardous Materials

The Hazmart manages the Household Hazardous Materials storage area. The program was established so personnel who are doing a PCS, or no longer need new or partially used household hazardous materials, ie, bleach, chlorine tables, oils, cleaning supplies, can bring them to the Hazmart, located in Bldg. 5227. We will check them for serviceability and stock the shelves. These items are provided to base personnel at no cost on a first come, first serve basis. Please call us at 228-5588 or visit us at Bldg. 5227.

 

PLAYpass available at the Airman & Family Readiness Center

The PLAYpass Program provides deployed-affected Single Airmen and Air Force families respite from the challenges of deployment. Single Airmen returning from deployment and families of deployed members can receive special discounts and rewards to help make their deployment easier. PLAYpass offers discount cards that provide members and eligible family members the opportunity to participate in Force Support Squadron programs (e.g., Outdoor Recreation, Youth Programs, Bowling, Golf) for free or at a reduced cost. Each card is valued in excess of $500. PLAYpass cards may be picked up at the Airman & Family Readiness Center, Bldg 2441, from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Mon-Fri.
