Power Outage Scheduled for Sept. 8

A power outage is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 8 from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. The buildings to be affected are: 4826, 4809, 4800, 4810, 4710, 5607, 5605, 5430, 5423, 5421, 5251, the sunshades, 206, 205, 204, 208, the GATR Site, North End Barrier Pits Primary and Secondary, REIL Lights, PAPI’s North End, 306, 304, 313, 338, PAPI’s South End, PAR, 13203, Barrier Pits South End Primary and Secondary, and the Dump Monitoring Site. DM Thrift Shop to hold Grand Opening

DM Thrift Shop Sept. 8, 9 a.m.- noon

The Grand Opening will feature the K.C. Monroe Band. The new location is 5085 Flora Street, Bldg. 1226. Consignments are now being taken Tuesday 9 a.m. – noon, Wednesday 9 a.m. – noon and the 1st Saturday of the month 9 a.m. – noon. Donations can be dropped off at the donation room at any time. Baby Basics is for military members and their spouses who are expecting a baby and are in their third trimester. Topics include the importance of budgeting, parenting skills, child safety and more. Participants receive a free baby bundle full of items. Please RVSP at 228-5690.

 

Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage

Sept. 21, 1-2:30 p.m. – Airman & Family Readiness Center

Military Officers Association of America to meet

The Military Officers Association of America meets for a business meeting lunch or dinner, and program on the fourth Wednesday of each month from September through May (except November).  Military officers, active duty, reserve or retired, are eligible to attend.  Our next meeting is Sept. 26, at Tanque Verde Guest Ranch; Topic includes guest political speakers.  For more information or to make reservations, please contact Major Roy Ludlow at 449-0410, three days prior to the meeting.

Household Hazardous Materials

The Hazmart manages the Household Hazardous Materials storage area. The program was established so personnel who are doing a PCS, or no longer need new or partially used household hazardous materials, ie, bleach, chlorine tables, oils, cleaning supplies, can bring them to the Hazmart, located in Bldg. 5227. We will check them for serviceability and stock the shelves. These items are provided to base personnel at no cost on a first come, first serve basis. Please call us at 228-5588 or visit us at Bldg. 5227.

 

PLAYpass available at the Airman & Family  Readiness Center

The PLAYpass Program provides deployed-affected Single Airmen and Air Force families respite from the challenges of deployment. Single Airmen returning from deployment and families of deployed members can receive special discounts and rewards to help make their deployment easier. PLAYpass offers discount cards that provide members and eligible family members the opportunity to participate in Force Support Squadron programs (e.g., Outdoor Recreation, Youth Programs, Bowling, Golf) for free or at a reduced cost. Each card is valued in excess of $500. PLAYpass cards may be picked up at the Airman & Family Readiness Center, Bldg 2441, from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Mon-Fri.
