U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Earnest Perkins, 355th Civil Engineer Squadron Airman dormitory leader, files information on dorm residents Sept. 5. The ADLs handle the needs and concerns of more than 600 Airmen in the dorms as well as the concerns of base leadership in regards to dorm residents.

Airman dormitory leaders may not have the most dynamic job, but they do have one of the most important: ensuring junior enlisted Airmen have a place to stay when they arrive to their first duty location. They aid Airmen and their supervisors in ensuring needs are met from the time Airmen check in until the time they check out.

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgts. Ebony Leach and Shawn Taylor, 355th Civil Engineer Squadron Airman dormitory leaders, discuss issues concerning the dorm residents Sept. 5. Along with dealing with dorm issues, ADLs also plan events to help increase Espirit de corps among dorm residents.

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Johanie Ramirez, 355th Civil Engineer Squadron Airman dormitory leader, briefs new dorm residents during a mass in-processing brief Sept. 6. ADLs brief Airmen on the rules and procedures they are expected to follow as well as provide useful information in case of emergencies during the briefings that are held every Thursday.

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Ebony Leach, 355th Civil Engineer Squadron Airman dormitory leader, talks with Master Sgt. Eddie Walton, 355th Maintenance Operations Squadron, about some of his Airmen in the dorms Sept. 5. The ADLs provide assistance to dorm residents’ supervisors and other leadership by allowing them access to rooms for room inspections and providing other information such as dorm regulations.

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Johanie Ramirez, 355th Civil Engineer Squadron Airman dormitory leader, checks a drawer during a precheckout inspection in a dorm room. The ADLs use the pre-checkout inspection to give Airmen guidance on what they should do before finishing their checkout process and handing over the keys to their rooms.
