Turn in your medication for safe disposal

The 355th Security Forces Squadron will host the Drug Enforcement Agency National Pharmaceutical Take Back Day at the Base Exchange Pharmacy Sept. 29, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The pharmacy will be accepting unused, unwanted or expired medication for safe disposal.

This is an effort put forth by the DEA to crack down on the control of prescribed substances.

By assisting with the proper disposal of medications, they hope to:

  • Stop unused medications thrown in the trash from being retrieved and used illegally
  • Prevent medications from being flushed and contaminating the water system
  • Ensure medications are not used for a condition other than prescribed

All controlled substances will be accepted except those in liquid or syringe form.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact Tech. Sgt. Kevin Spain, 355th SFS, at 520-228-5285 or Staff Sgt. Frederick Seitz at 520-228-1479.
