Deployed Airmen & Families

-Halloween Bowling

Oct. 20, 4-6 p.m. – D-M Bowling Center

Wear your costume and come out for some bowling fun. Food will be provided and everyone will receive Halloween goodies! Please call 228-5690 by Oct. 18 to register.

-Reintegration & Welcome Home Banner Event

Oct. 29, 5-6 p.m. – Airman & Family Readiness Center

Is your deployed loved one coming home soon? Come out and join us for a Reintegration & Welcome Home Banner making event. Food and drinks will be available along with all supplies. This event will be held the last Monday of each month. Call 228-5690 to register.

 

Brain Waves for Fathers

Oct. 12, 12-4 p.m. – Airman & Family Readiness Center

Learn more about the mechanics of early childhood brain development. This exciting new program is for fathers of young children (ages birth through five). Call 228-5690 to register.

 

Give Parents a Break 

Oct 20, 12-4 p.m.

The next Give Parents a Break will be at the Finley CDC for children 6 weeks to 5 years old, and School Age Program for kindergarteners through 12 years of age. Please pick up your voucher at the A&FRC and ensure that you pre-register at the CDC or SAP at least 48 hours in advance  (Thursday prior, no later than 12:00 p.m.).  Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in     advance (Friday prior) if you are unable to attend.  Call 228-5690 for more information.

 

PLAYpass Program extended 

The PLAYpass Program has been extended until Dec. 31, 2013. If you have an expiration date of Dec. 31, 2012 on your PLAYpass card and are eligible for an extension, please stop by A&FRC to have your card updated (PLAYpass cards expire 90 after return of member). The PLAYpass program provides eligible families the opportunity to participate in Force Support Squadron programs for free or at reduced costs. Please bring by your deployment or remote orders to the A&FRC to get your PLAYpass. For more information, call 228-5690.

 

Society of Military Widows to meet

Oct. 20, Noon – Atria Bell Court Gardens, 6653 E.Carondelet.

The Society of Military Widows will meet for a luncheon at noon the 3rd Saturday of the month. For your reservations, please call Virginia Lind Sanborn at 721-8091, 10 days prior to the meeting.

 

FREE Employment & Computer Skills Classes 

Thanks to a grant from the Air Force Aid Society, the Airman & Family Readiness Center has partnered with Pima Community College to offer free employment and computer skills classes to Spouses of Active Duty Air Force personnel assigned to Davis-Monthan AFB.

Employment Readiness Skills 

Oct. 15 – Oct. 18, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. – Airman & Family Readiness Center (Bldg 2441)

Includes values skills identification, interest and personality assessment, career search strategies, communication skills, self/career management skills, and employability skills, including résumé preparation and basic interview competencies.

Computer Skills

-Microsoft Excel: Oct. 19 and 22, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

-Microsoft PowerPoint: Oct. 23 and 24, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

-Microsoft Publisher: Oct. 26, 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
