Gate/Road Closure

Craycroft Gate and Craycroft Road, from Golf Links to Arizola/Quijota, will be closed Nov. 11-12. Drivers can enter and leave the base through the Swan Gate. The visitor center will be located at the Swan Gate. Craycroft gate is scheduled to close at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 and reopen at 5 p.m. Nov. 12.

Brain Waves for Fathers

Nov. 9, 12-4 p.m. – Airman & Family Readiness Center
Learn more about the mechanics of early childhood brain development. This exciting new program is for fathers of young children (ages birth through five). Please RSVP at 228-5690.

Baby Basics

Nov. 14, 10-11:30 a.m. – Airman & Family Readiness Center
Baby Basics is for military members and their spouses who are expecting a baby and are in their third trimester. Topics include the importance of budgeting, parenting skills, child safety and more. Participants receive a free baby bundle full of items. Please RVSP at 228-5690.

Marketing Yourself for a Second Career

Dec. 11, 8:30-11 a.m. – Mirage Club
The Airman & Family Readiness Center is hosting a seminar entitled “Marketing Yourself for a Second Career,” on Dec. 11, from 8:30-11 a.m. in the Mirage Club. Col Dan Koslov, USAF (Ret) of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), will be presenting this seminar for interested Officers, Senior NCOs and spouses.
“Marketing Yourself for a Second Career” covers subjects such as:

  • Perceptions civilian employers have of military personnel.
  • Resumes, cover letters, broadcast letters, etc.
  • How employers read your resume.
  • Networking the hidden job market.
  • Preparing for and conducting a successful interview.
  • Salary negotiations and benefit packages.
