Christmas Tree Recycling
Recycle your Christmas trees at the Golf Links Sports Park. North West corner of Golf Links and Craycroft Roads from Dec. 26 – Jan. 6. DO NOT TAKE TO BASE RECYCLING CENTER.

Southern Arizona to host annual train show
Dec. 27 and Dec. 28 – SAVAHCS

The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) will host the Tucson Garden Railway Society of Tucson during the holiday season. Numerous operational train displays will be set-up in the R.E. Lindsey Jr. Auditorium, Building 4 for patient, employees, volunteers, families, children, and especially the young at heart. The train show will be held Thursday, Dec. 27 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 28 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. for the viewing public. The show will feature the earliest model trains to modern trains running on our Nation’s tracks today.

Focus on Fathering Workshops
Airman & Family Readiness Center
In partnership with United Way of Tucson and First Things First, the Easter Seals Blake Foundation introduces Focus on Fathering – a group for dads about being a dad. Workshops will be held on Fridays, from 1- 3 p.m. on Jan. 11, 18 & 25.

Learn about the importance of:

  • Being a dad — getting more involved with your child
  • Co-parenting — the art of reading with your child
  • Connecting with your child — building a healthy relationship
  • Discipline — building your child’s self esteem
  • Ideas for play — how to help your child understand their feelings
  • Child Development

To register, call the Airman & Family Readiness Center at 228-5690.

PLAYpass available at the Airman & Family Readiness Center The PLAYpass Program provides deployed-affected Single Airmen and Air Force families respite from the challenges of deployment. Single Airmen returning from deployment and families of deployed members can receive special discounts and rewards to help make their deployment easier. PLAYpass offers discount cards that provide members and eligible family members the opportunity to participate in Force Support Squadron programs (e.g., Outdoor Recreation, Youth Programs, Bowling, Golf) for free or at a reduced cost. Each card is valued in excess of $500.

PLAYpass cards may be picked up at the Airman & Family Readiness Center, Bldg 2441, from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Mon-Fri. For more information or to find out if you are eligible for PLAYpass, visit www.MyAirForceLife.com or call the A&FRC at 228-5690.
