Basketball Coaches Needed

The D-M Youth Center is in need of basketball coaches for ages 5/6 and 7/8 years.  Season runs Jan. 22 to Mar. 16. Training will be provided. If you are interested please call 228-8844/8390 or e-mail Kathy.sands@dm.af.mil.

Focus on Fathering

Learn about child development, connecting with your child, parenting when you are apart, discipline and more. Eight different workshops will be offered at the Airman & Family Readiness Center every Friday through Mar. 1, 2013. Please RSVP at 228-5690.

Stay and Play

Wednesdays, 9:30-11 a.m. – Desert Dove Chapel

This is a new program for parents and children ages birth to five years. Features open play-time, parent-child activities, circle time, parenting support and education. Registration is not required. For more information, call 321-1500.

Reintegration & Welcome Home Banner Event

Jan. 28, 4:30-5:30 p.m. – Airman & Family Readiness Center

Brain Waves for Fathers

Feb. 8, 12-4 p.m. – Airman & Family Readiness Center

Learn more about the mechanics of early childhood brain development.  This exciting new program is for fathers of young children (ages birth through five). Please RSVP at 228-5690.

Managing Your Credit

Jan. 29, 10-11 a.m. and noon-1 p.m. – Airman & Family Readiness Center

Designed to cover all aspects of your credit, from establishing, building & repairing credit to understanding the pros and cons of having credit. Please RSVP at 228-5690.

Social Skills Classes

There are still funds to provide scholarships to families interested in enrolling their children in social skills classes.  These classes are designed for children K- middle school, with high functioning autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, SPD or learning disabilities.  The next classes will run March-May 2013.  For more information and an application form, call Tiffany at 228-5690.

STOMP Training

The Air Force is funding a training program for military families, Specialized Training of Military Parents (STOMP).  They will be here at D-M March 14-15.  If you have a child with special needs, you are highly encouraged to attend. For more information, call 228-5690.

 

Focus on Fathering Workshops – Airman & Family Readiness Center 

In partnership with United Way of Tucson and First Things First, the Easter Seals Blake Foundation introduces Focus on Fathering – a group for dads about being a dad. Workshops will be held on Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Learn about the importance of being a dad and getting more involved with your child. Sign up for one or all remaining workshops:
