Tech. Sgt. Travis Keale

Desert Lightning Team’s Weekly Warrior: Tech. Sgt. Travis Keale

Family: Pastora Keale (Wife)

Hometown: Anahola, Hawaii

Unit: 355 Civil Engineer Squadron, Fire Emergency Services Flight

Job title: Assistant Chief of Operations

Job description: I supervise a shift of 25 civilian and military firefighters. Additionally, I provide command and control at all emergencies which include structural, rescue/medical, HazMat, and aircraft firefighting emergencies.

Most rewarding job aspect:

Interacting with the people that we assist every day. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing the results of your work.

Goals: My most immediate personal goal is making master sergeant the next promotion cycle.

Hobbies: Running (middle and long distance) and Crossfit.

Favorite Performer:  Ho’aikane; a Hawaii based group.

Favorite dish: Seafood (fish, crab, lobster)

I’m proudest of: The excellent job that our flight does day in and day out while working a demanding schedule. (72 hour work week)

Best Asset: I believe that I am even tempered which allows me to deal with emergency situations in an effective manner.

Person I admire most:  My Father.

Pet Peeve:  Tardiness. When you are late you waste everyone’s time and detract from your unit’s ability to complete the mission.

What I like most about D-M:  The weather. It is beautiful the majority of the year.
