Boots to Business Workshop

The Two-day Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Self- Employment Intensive Training Workshop is offered in collaboration among the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF), the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs. If you have a passion and the drive to start a business, this intensive training workshop is a perfect fit for you! We are recruiting 30 interested transitioning service members and veterans to participate in the workshop, you will learn if starting a business is right for you, if your business idea is feasible and much more! SAVHC to hold Ex-POW recognition day
Tuesday, April 9, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. — Patio Conf. Rm of Bldg. 4, VA Medical Center
The purpose of the program is to provide first-hand information to the public and raise the awareness of the personal sacrifices and experiences these Veterans went through. The exhibits will include Prisoner-Of-War memorabilia, displays, posters, and engaging conversation with the EX-POW’s of WWII.
This will be a great opportunity for the public to speak to former POW’s about their own personal war experiences, and how they contributed to the freedom we all enjoy today. Stop by and visit with these American heroes as they tell of their experiences during their captivity in POW camps in Europe and the Pacific.
