Airman Jonathan Bass has constantly shown dedication to the community, his church and the military. He was elected as Dorm Council President by his peers, communicating the needs of over 100 dorm residents to the First Sergeants. Additionally, Airman Bass honored our nation’s heroes by marching in the Veterans Day Parade and helping over 240 veterans in need by providing hot meals every month at the local shelters. Furthermore, he provides spiritual fulfillment to over 60 military members and their families every week by performing in the Davis-Monthan Base Chapel Band, while in charge of maintaining the chapel’s music equipment, valued over $8,000. Lastly, Airman Bass is an active participant and representative of the 355 EMS booster club and is currently attending classes at Pima Community College working toward his Associates Degree from the Community College of the Air Force.

Airman Bass’ devotion of community service carries over to his work ethic. He has demonstrated outstanding pride and superior job performance while completing over 36 A-10 phase inspections ensuring a 99 percent Quality Assurance pass rate. Airman Bass has also shown close attention to detail during 18 maintenance inspections on 13 ammunition loaders where he discovered and repaired 15 discrepancies that contributed to a 97 percent availability rate. His direct actions are vital to maintaining Davis-Monthan’s fleet of 85 A-10 gun systems valued over $38 million.
