355 EMS Munitions Flight to conduct inventory assessment

NOTICE TO ALL MUNITIONS FLIGHT CUSTODIANS/CUSTOMERS: The 355 EMS Munitions Flight will be conducting a 100% Munitions Stockpile Inventory Sept. 13. Only Emergency requests submitted in writing and approved by the MXG Commander will be supported. Direct any questions to Munitions Operations at 228-8274.

Youth Flag Football Coaches Needed

D-M Youth Programs is looking for energetic people to coach and teach youth the basic fundamentals of flag football. The season runs Oct. 1-Nov. 20. If you’re interested, call or e-mail Kathy Sands at 228-8844 or kathy.sands@dm.af.mil.

Jungle Journey

Thursday, Sept. 19, 5-7 p.m. – Mirage Club at Ironwood & Craycroft St.

An event you don’t want to miss! The Airman and Family Services Flight is hosting a FREE event for families, featuring bouncy castles, carnival games, arts and crafts, and entertainment. There will also be information tables with free resources on child development, reading, and school readiness. We will have an EFMP table with free handouts and special education information. The Mirage Club is offering a family-friendly Jungle Buffet (for purchase), complete with a chocolate fountain! We look forward to seeing you there. Preregistration is NOT required for this event. College Book Tuition Scholarships

The Tucson Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association has implemented the AFCEA Tucson Book Scholarship. One $150 scholarship will be awarded each month from September 2013 through May 2014. The minimum qualification criteria are to be an AFCEA Tucson member enrolled in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math college degree program. Membership is based upon rank and can be as low as $15 a year! Deadlines for application are the last Friday of each preceding month. DMOSC Welcome Ice Cream Social

Join us at the Mirage Club on September 13th to enjoy some ice cream while you learn about the DM Officers’ Spouses’s Club.  Our Special Activities Club Chairs will be there along with a table displaying Thrift Shop merchandise.  Everyone gets a raffle ticket, if you join DMOSC you get two!  Open to all Officers’ Spouses’ and kids are welcome.  If you have any questions, please go to www.dmosc.org.  

Uniforms offered at Thrift Store

DMOSC “Back to School” Luncheon

Join the spouses of the DMOSC for a “Back to School” Luncheon on Sept. 19 at the Mirage Club from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.  Make reservations at www.dmosc.org.  

Society of Military Widows to meet

The Society of Military Widows will have their luncheon at the Tucson Country Club at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25. This will be a joint luncheon with M.O.A.A. (Military Officers Association of America) and will be attended by political candidates. For your reservations please, call Kay Spargur 574-6628 before Sept.15.

Changes to Early Intervention

The referral process to the Arizona Early Intervention Program (AZEIP) has changed.  Families who have a child between the ages of birth and three who suspect a significant developmental delay (or have a known medical condition that will result in disability) can call 1-888-592-0140.

Money on the Road Program

Money on the Road is an Airman & Family Readiness program designed to bring financial readiness/counseling TO YOUR unit! Our counselors can teach classes and be available for one-on-one counseling or to answer general questions.  We tailor our visit to your unit specific needs. You provide a temporary location for us and we provide efficient financial counseling services. If your unit is interested in our Money on the Road program, please call us at 228-5690.

PLAYpass available at the Airman & Family Readiness Center

The PLAYpass Program provides deployed/remote Single Airmen and Air Force families respite from the challenges of deployment. Single Airmen returning from deployment and families of deployed members can receive special discounts and rewards to help make their deployment easier. PLAYpass offers discount cards that provide members and eligible family members the opportunity to participate in Force Support Squadron programs (e.g. Arts and Crafts Programs, Outdoor Recreation, Youth Programs, Bowling, Golf) for free or at a reduced cost. Each card is valued in excess of $500. PLAYpass cards may be picked up at the Airman & Family Readiness Center, Bldg 2441, from 7:30 a.m.- 4:30.p.m., Mon-Thurs.
