NARFE Chapter 55 to hold annual picnic
Oct. 14, 11 a.m. – Reid Park
The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Association, Chapter 55, will hold their Annual Picnic meeting on Columbus Day, Monday, October 14, at the NW corner of Reid Park, Ramada #22. The picnic starts at 11 a.m. Call Jane or Vern Pall 760-1952 to let them know what you want to bring–salad, veggie or dessert. If no answer, leave a message regarding how many will attend and what you are bringing. The Chapter furnishes the Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Buns, condiments, beverages, plates, cups, utensils, and napkins. Current and retired Federal employees, their spouses, guests and visitors are welcome.
Retired Officers’ Spouses Club
Thursday, Nov. 7, 11 a.m. – Old Pueblo Grille Restaurant, 60 N. Alvernon Way
The Tucson Retired Officers’ Spouses Club will hold its next monthly luncheon meeting on Nov. 7 at Old Pueblo Grille Restaurant, 60 N. Alvernon Way, located one block north of Broadway Blvd. Social hour begins at 11 a.m., with lunch served at noon. Special guest speaker will be Lisa Hopper, Founder and CEO of World Care Civilian Emergency Relief Center. The price of the luncheon is $20. Reservations and entrée choice are due by noon, Nov. 4 by calling LaVae Wight, 297-3865 or Jeanne Ringgenberg, 296-6844. Any spouse or widow of a retired military officer is invited to join. Money on the Road Program
Money on the Road is an Airman & Family Readiness program designed to bring financial readiness/counseling TO YOUR unit! Our counselors can teach classes and be available for one-on-one counseling or to answer general questions. We tailor our visit to your unit specific needs. You provide a temporary location for us and we provide efficient financial counseling services. If your unit is interested in our Money on the Road program, please call us at 228-5690.
Love & Logic Parenting Classes
Would you like to learn skills for raising responsible children? Love & Logic makes parenting fun rather than frantic. FREE Love & Logic classes are being offered at Borman Elementary School on D-M. Classes will run from Nov. 6 – Dec. 19, from 3-5 p.m. Free child care will be available for ages 3 and up (to 5th grade). Please call 520-584-4618 to sign up.

This is a new program for parents and children ages birth to five years. Features open play-time, parent-child activities, circle time, parenting support and education. Registration is not required. For more information, call 321-1500.
PLAYpass gives Airmen up to $1,000 in discounts!
The PLAYpass program provides Air Force Families and Single Airmen a relief from the challenges of separation caused by deployments and dependent restricted assignments. The Family PLAYpass cards are issued to those that meet the eligibility requirements. The first card is issued when the member is deployed, or on a dependent restricted assignment, and is valid while the member is gone, plus an additional 90 days after they return. The second family card is issued upon return from the member’s deployment and is valid for 90 days after the return date. The Single Airmen PLAYpass card is issued upon return from deployment and expires 90 days after they return. Single Airmen can also bring a friend along to share in the amazing benefits!
