Selection Reasons:

Airman Smith demonstrated superb technical skill when he troubleshot and rewired an A-10C Situational Awareness Data Link system; a task normally reserved for more experienced personnel.  His expert subject matter knowledge and adherence to “fix it right” maintenance enabled subsequent code-1 aircraft sorties. Airman Smith expanded his professional growth by helping to facilitate targeting pod training.  His efforts were integral to providing the materials and support required for visiting field engineers to conduct four sessions and train twelve Air Force personnel on the Sensor Enhanced Litening advanced targeting pod.  He also performed maintenance on the Radar Warning System in preparation for Combat Shield.  His actions were vital in securing 100% pass rate for the 357 AMU during the ACC Combat Shield inspection.

He also performed the duties of proffer for the 355th Fighter Wing during the Non-Commissioned Officer induction ceremony.  His professionalism upheld a long Air Force tradition of recognizing career milestones and bolstering esprit de corps.  Airman Smith also received an excellent rating on his annual AF PT test.  A totally involved professional!

Additionally, Sergeant Richards authored and implemented the 355th Operations Support Squadrons Training Guidance memo and keeps the commander apprised of all training issues and progress. She achieved much in a short period of time, all while completing her own 5-level upgrade CDCs…and scored an impressive 94% on her End of Course exam. Additional to her primary duties, Sergeant Richards serves as the Group OPSEC monitor, and is an active member of the Firebird Advisory Counsel. Sergeant Richards truly exemplifies the very best of DM’s enlisted corp. and that is what makes her DIAMOND SHARP!
