NARFE Chapter 1874 to meet

Feb. 17, 11:30 a.m. – Golden Corral

Current and retired Federal employees, spouses, guests, and visitors are invited to join NARFE Chapter 1874 at the Golden Corral Restaurant, 6865 N. Thornydale Dr. The February meeting will be on Monday, Feb. 17. (Senior menu $7.95)  Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. The meeting will be noon-1 p.m. The speaker will be David Clark from Wells Fargo. Society of Military Widows to meet

Feb. 15, noon – Mirage Club

The Society of Military Widows luncheon and meeting will be held at noon, Feb. 15 at the Mirage Club. For informations and reservations, please call Kay Spargur 574-6628 at least 10 days before the luncheon date.

Retired Officers’ Spouses Club

Mar. 6, 11 a.m. – Tucson Country Club

The Tucson Retired Officers’ Spouses Club will hold its monthly luncheon on Thursday, Mar. 6 at the Tucson Country Club, 2950 N. Camino Principal, off Tanque Verde Rd. between Grant Rd. and Sabino Canyon Rd. Social hour begins at 11 a.m., with lunch served at noon.  The price of the luncheon is $21. Reservations and entrée choice are due by noon Monday, Mar. 3, by calling Marty Skinner 529-0829. Any spouse or widow of a retired military officer is invited to join the Tucson ROSC. There are no membership dues. For more information, please call ROSC Chairperson Rita Dennis at 577-1741.

OSC Scholarship Applications are Available

Every year the DMOSC offers thousands of dollars in scholarships for military dependents who are high school seniors preparing to attend college and who are spouses starting or continuing their college education. The Scholarship Applications are Now Available at http://www.dmosc.org/scholarships.html Deadline for application is March 14.

Stay and Play

Wednesdays, 10-11:30 a.m. – Desert Dove Chapel

This is a new program for parents and children ages birth to five years. Features open play-time, parent-child activities, circle time, parenting support and education. Registration is not required. For more information, call 321-1500.

Money on the Road Program

Money on the Road is an Airman & Family Readiness program designed to bring financial readiness/counseling TO YOUR unit! Our counselors can teach classes and be available for one-on-one counseling or to answer general questions. We tailor our visit to your unit specific needs. You provide a temporary location for us and we provide efficient financial counseling services. If your unit is interested in our Money on the Road program, please call us at 228-5690.

Volunteers are needed in a variety of areas on D-M and in the local community. Volunteering is an excellent way to become involved with the community, increase mentorship skills and enhance career growth. Leaders Are Readers Book Club

Are you looking for some mentorship and development? Do you like to read? Then Leaders are Readers is for you! Our purpose is to enhance the professional growth of all Desert Lighting Team members through reading and mentoring. Leaders are Readers discuss leadership novels from the CSAF Reading List as well as other insightful novels. We meet twice a month and have meaningful discussions on key leadership concepts and experiences. All ranks are welcomed! This is a great opportunity to hear what your superiors and subordinates have to say. To improve yourself please join us at one of our sessions! We would love to hear from you!
