The members of the Fitness Assessment Cell detail are responsible to ensure that Airmen here stay fit to fight during their enlistment.
The FAC detail team is made up of Airmen who are designated Physical Training Leaders in their work areas. PTLs are responsible for helping fellow Airmen maintain physical fitness standards, by assembling challenging workout routines for them to participate in.
The FAC detail is dispersed rotationally throughout each squadron here.
“FAC detail can be drawn more than once per year depending on how many PTLs are in your squadron,” said Staff Sgt. Jessica Hennessy, 355th Force Support Squadron, assistant noncommissioned officer in charge of the FAC.
Physical training testing is held at Benko Fitness Center twice per morning.
“FAC detail runs from 6-10 a.m. Monday – Friday every week, as long as there are Airmen scheduled for fitness testing,” said Airman 1st Class Trey Florio, 355th Communications Squadron, radio frequency technician. “The first test begins at 6:30 a.m. and the second at 8:30 a.m. For each test the PTLs are assigned to score each of the four groups of testers.”
The muscular strength portion of the test, to include pushups and sit-ups, are administered indoors. While the 1 1/2 mile run is typically held outside, it can change locations from time to time.
“The outdoor track at Benko is the wing certified location for the 1 1/2 mile run,” Hennessy said. “If there is an event that ties up the track, then the run is recorded on the indoor track on the second floor of Benko. The participants are required to run 16 1/2 laps to equal the mile and a half. If both tracks are occupied we’ll move the run to the Sunglow trail by Swan gate.”
Airmen can now register for their PT tests via the Air Force Portal. For more information contact your unit fitness program manager.
