Army Pvt. Leila Y. Araiza Zozaya

Army Pvt. Leila Y. Araiza Zozaya has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Araiza Zozaya is the niece of Maria L. Araiza of Tucson, Ariz.

She is a 2014 graduate of Pima Vocational High School, Tucson, Ariz.

Airman Agustin A. Morales

Air Force Airman Agustin A. Morales graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Morales is the son of Agustin Morales of Oro Valley, Ariz., and Angelica Baltier of New York, N.Y., grandson of Diana Rohrbacher of Tucson, Ariz., brother of Alexia M. Morales.

He is a 2014 graduate of Ironwood Ridge High School, Oro Valley, Ariz.

Airman Paul D. Jackman

Air Force Airman Paul D. Jackman graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

Jackman is the son of John Jackman of Anchorage, Alaska, and Susan Jackman of Tucson, Ariz.

He is a 2011 graduate of Sahuaro High School, Tucson, Ariz.

Airman Emiliano Alvarez-Carrillo

Alvarez-Carrillo is the son of Natalie and Gabriel Alvarez-Carrillo and grandson of Delores Carrillo of Tucson, Ariz. He is also the nephew of Alex Carrillo of Austin, Texas, Tisa Carrillo of Palo Alto, Calif., Monica Carrillo of Bellingham, Wash., and nephew of Carlos B. Alvarez of Pueblo, Colo.

The airman graduated in 2015 from Tucson High Magnet School, Tucson, Ariz.

Airman 1st Class Romy C. Phillips

Phillips is the daughter of Susanne Phillips of Tucson, Ariz.

She graduated in 2010 from Mountain View High School, Tucson, Ariz., and she earned a bachelor’s degree in 2014 from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Ariz.

Airman Charles Spallino
