Aerospace Control Alert Detachment always ready for action

An F-16 from the Aerospace Control Alert Detachment from the 162nd Wing sits at the ready in a hangar at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona, Sept. 12. The detachment maintains the ability to quickly scramble in response to airborne threats in the Southwest United States, as well as proactively defend large gatherings and high profile events.

Tucson, Ariz. — The Aerospace Control Alert Detachment at the 162nd Wing in Tucson, Arizona,  maintains the ability to quickly scramble in response to airborne threats in the Southwest United States, as well as proactively defend large gatherings and high profile events. The detachment is geographically separated from the 162nd Wing headquarters, and is instead located at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
