Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz. — Retiree Appreciation Day will be held at Club Ironwood from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m, March 17.
This event is intended to educate U.S. service member retirees and Department of Defense retirees on their eligible entitlements.
“We want to update retirees on all entitlements that they have, and all the programs that are available,” said retired U.S. Air Force Brig Gen. Keith Connolly, Retired Activities Office director. “Some of the things we talk about are VA eligibility enrollment, combat related compensation, social security benefits and changes, Tricare medical and dental.”
In between the speakers, attendees will have the opportunity to walk around and view the various booths that will be set up.
“We have a number of people come and set up tables representing various associations around the base, including Hospice and Military Officers’ Association,” Connolly said.
There will also be a guest speaker from the Military Officers’ Association of America in Washington D.C. talking about the programs that are under congressional consideration.
Retirees who are interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by calling the RAO at 228-5100. If you reach the recording, leave your name, phone number and how many people will be attending with you. Family members are invited to attend the event as well.
For anyone who is unable to attend, the RAO office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer any retiree entitlement and eligibility related questions. The office is located in building 3210, across the street from the Club Ironwood parking lot.
