Air Force photograph

The Lockheed U-2 operated by the United States Air Force photographed the secret placement of Soviet missiles in Cuba Oct. 14, 1962. Reconnaissance missions flown by the U-2 monitored movement of Soviet ships and the dismantling of the intermediate range ballistic missiles. A U-2, such as this one, will be on display April 21 at Blackbird Airpark.
