AFMC Warriors,

The 2012 AFMC Air Force Assistance Funds (AFAF) campaign is drawing to a close.

This year’s campaign has been a shining example of “Wingmen taking care of Wingmen” throughout the command.

The outpouring of generosity to support the four AFAF charities has been nothing short of phenomenal. While the AFAF is run by Airmen for the benefit of Airmen, we witnessed strong support and contributions from our Air Force retirees and their families as well as our civilian workforce.

With two installations’ campaigns still on-going, AFMC has already raised $766,577 – nearly 7 percent more than last year and 12 percent above our command goal. Even during these tough economic times, you have demonstrated the Wingman spirit in a most tangible manner. As always, thank you for making a difference.

My sincere appreciation to all who participated.

General Hoffman

Have you really joined the Air Force yet?

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska–For those of us in uniform, particularly enlisted members, memories of how we came to be in the military are fairly easy to call to mind – whether the process was more than 20 years ago, or closer to 20 months ago. As I recall the experience, that trip to the Military...

Through our character – an opportunity to reflect on important issues in our community

“What do you do?”  That is the question most asked of people when they meet for the first time.  It implies that we are what we do. But deep down we know we are more than our job. Our character, personality, hobbies, and family life are not often considered when we meet. It would be...
