Air Force announces AFMC senior leader moves

Air Force officials announced May 17, 2012, the retirement of a general officer within Air Force Materiel Command, along with the new assignments of three others.

Brig. Gen. Arnold W. Bunch Jr. will become commander of the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. He is currently the commander of the Air Force Security Assistance Center located at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.

Bunch will succeed Brig. Gen. Robert C. Nolan II, the current AFFTC commander, who is retiring.

Brig. Gen. James E. Haywood will become commander of the Air Force Security Assistance Center. Currently, Haywood is the Director of Strategic Plans, Programs and Analyses at Headquarters AFMC.

Brig. Gen. Stephen T. Denker will succeed Haywood as the Director of Strategic Plans, Programs and Analyses at Headquarters AFMC. He currently serves as commandant of Air Command and Staff College and vice commander of the Spaatz Center for Officer Education at Air University, located at Maxwell AFB, Ala.
