Chief Master Sgt. Bill Thomaston, 95th Air Base Wing command chief, is moving on.

Thomaston is headed to Offutt Air Force Base, Neb., where he will serve as the 55th Fighter Wing command chief.

During his tenure, Thomaston managed base-wide programs including the highly successful Team Edwards awards and promotion ceremonies.

Additionally, he supported the entire base as the first sergeant functional manager, adviser to all enlisted professional organizations, and mentor to enlisted professional programs.

During the annual Air Force Capitol Hill Engagement Program, he informed members of Congress and their staffs of issues facing our enlisted force at Edwards and conveyed key issues facing Airmen Air Force-wide on behalf of the Secretary of the Air Force’s Legislative Liaison staff.

Additionally, Thomaston secured more than $500,000 in quality of life funds; accomplished a long list of upgrades to the base dormitory complex and established the base’s first-ever Airmen’s Campus. He addressed a wide range of social, physical, emotional and spiritual needs, and gained outside financial support for the Airmen’s Attic and numerous holiday programs for Edwards’ youngest Airmen.

On behalf of Team Edwards, Col. Gregory Schwab, 95th ABW commander, wishes Thomaston farewell.

“We are proud to have served with you. Above all, we will always be grateful for your candid advice, unwavering loyalty and deep friendship!”
