Many of you know sexual assaults don’t just happen to people outside the gates of Edwards, it can happen to military personnel, their family members and any civilian. It happens to men, women and children.
The Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office is hosting a special guest speaker, Mary Lauterbach, from Dayton, Ohio. She is the mother of the late Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, U.S. Marine Corps, who lost her life in 2007. Lauterbach is a strong advocate for the SAPRO program and travels to military bases sharing the story of her daughter, our Sister in Arms.
We all agree one sexual assault is too many, but what’s even more tragic is to lose a life to this horrible crime. Come hear “A Marine’s Story” Aug. 10 at the Base Theatre at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Mrs. Lauterbach will answer questions after she speaks.
