Team Edwards members gathered together at Club Muroc Sept. 21 to celebrate “65 Years of Transformation” with their very own Air Force Ball. Guests were treated to drinks, food and dancing in celebration of the U.S. Air Force’s birthday. Videos and graphical illustrations made by 412th Public Affairs showed the history of flight test here at Edwards and the ever-changing base. In his welcome, Brig. Gen. Michael T. Brewer said, “While the Air Force has undergone continuous transformations over the past 65 years, it is the tremendous accomplishments of our Airmen, military and civilians, that have remained unchanged. Your efforts and sacrifices have helped shape our Air Force into the world’s greatest aerospace force.”

Retired Air Force colonel and test pilot Ted Wierzbanowski, AeroVironment UAS Airspace Integration director, served as the keynote speaker and spoke about the changes over the years in the Air Force. Here, he holds an unmanned aerial system that can be launched by hand.
