This year’s Combined Federal Campaign kicked off on Oct. 3 and runs through Nov. 14 12. The CFC, along with the Air Force Assistance Fund, is one of only two charitable fund-raising drives officially sanctioned by the Air Force.
Many national and local relief agencies depend on the CFC to help finance their operations. Recent natural disasters, combined with our nationís tough economic struggles, remind us that our fellow citizens need our help now more than ever. In addition to relief agencies, many research activities depend on CFC donations to fund their groundbreaking searches for cures to devastating diseases like Cancer, Alzheimer’s and Autism; just to name a few. Ultimately, your voluntary contributions will not only benefit others, but may also benefit you, your family, and/or your friends.
This year, I am setting an AFMC goal for key workers to complete 100% contact and collect voluntary contributions and pledges during the first few weeks of the campaign please take the time to make your decision early. Our CFC key workers are available to provide you with contribution materials and answer any questions you may have. Please also consider using the payroll deduction plan to spread your contributions over the next year, beginning in January 2013.
Your generosity in last yearís campaign was truly remarkable. Collectively, the men and women of AFMC contributed over $9.5 million to CFC charities. That was an incredible achievement, particularly in these tough economic times. I encourage each of you to help us continue this trend in 2012, and make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.
Thank you for helping make a difference.
