National Disability Employment Awareness luncheon

The Edwards AFB Disability Employment Awareness Month Observance Committee invites you to the National Disability Employment Awareness Month Luncheon 11 a.m., Oct. 25 at Club Muroc.
Keynote speaker will be Ron Govin from the California Department of Rehabilitation. The luncheon will feature a buffet style menu with spinach stuffed chicken, green beans and Rosemary roasted garlic potatoes, tossed salad, rolls, iced tea and water. Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options available upon request. Cost is $11 for club members and $13 for non-club members. Credit Cards used for advance payments only with RSVP. The event is co-sponsored by the 412th Test Wing and NASA Dryden Flight Research Center. RSVP by Oct. 18.

for government employees is limited and will be given on a walk-in, first

Webster University

Webster University is offering a new Bachelor of Arts in Management – Spring 2013. Webster University would like to invite you to come and learn about their new Bachelor of Arts in Management program starting spring 2013. Nov. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Webster Univ. will be holding a chili cook off so drop by the Education and Training Complex in Bldg. 2453 to have lunch and learn about the new B.A. of Management degree.

Great News Fitness Fans!

The new Fitness on Request system is available for customer use. Stop by the Fitness Center for your orientation and to gain access to this new state-of-the-art system.
The Fitness Center is providing an initial schedule of classes for the remainder of the month while they gather customer preferences and requests to fine tune the scheduled classes and times to meet our customer’s specific needs and desires. The temporary class schedule will be available at the Fitness Center and posted at the Aerobics Center.
If a group is interested in starting its own specific time slot and/or fitness routine, or to find out more about Fitness on Request, contact the Rosburg Fitness center at (661) 275-4961.

Federal Women’s Program Manager vacancy

The Equal Opportunity Office is accepting letters of interest from Air Force civilians who want to serve a two-year term as the Federal Women’s Program manager.
Letters should explain the basis of interest in the position and must be endorsed by the applicant’s immediate supervisor. The FWPM position is a collateral duty that requires up to 20 percent of the incumbent’s duty time.

Free concert

The Veterans Administration of Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and Greater Los Angeles Fisher House Foundation are hosting a free concert for veterans, military members and families featuring musical legend America at 5 p.m., Nov. 10 at the Wadsworth Theatre.
Veterans and their families can also enjoy a free barbecue prior to the concert from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Rose Garden. Both events take place at the West Los Angeles Medical Center Nov. 10 in honor of Veterans Day Weekend.

Retirement

An informal retirement ceremony will be held in the Bldg. 1600 Conference Room 101 1-2 p.m., Nov. 29 to celebrate Donna Satterlee’s retirement from Civil Service after 36 years. Cake and punch will be served.
