Cerro Coso Community College student Smarter Measure Assessment test information

Edwards AFB Education Center

Effective July 1, 2012, students beginning their enrollment in Fall 2012 semester must have graduated from an accredited High School or passed the GED before receiving certain types of Financial Aid.

All students are required to attend Student Orientation prior to taking their Assessment test. Assessment testing is administered to incoming students in order to:

  • Evaluate academic potential
  • Assist in selecting course work at the appropriate level
  • Determine if minimum proficiencies in writing, reading, and mathematics have been met

If students have taken English and/or Math through an accredited institution, or have taken a placement test previously, you may have met the assessment requirement. To determine if you have completed your assessment, please contact the Cerro Coso Community College Counselor at (760) 384-6219 or utilize our “Online Contact Form” found at www.cerrocoso.edu.

All students must attend Student Orientation prior to taking an Assessment. If you have not completed your student Orientation, you will be asked to reschedule your Assessment. All students are required to take the Smarter Measure Assessment prior to taking the Cerro Coso College student assessment test. To take the Smarter Measure Assessment, the Username is the name of the campus that you attend and the Password is “student.”

To qualify for a priority registration date, students need to complete all steps of the matriculation process: Orientation, Assessment, and Counseling in order to develop an Education Plan.

Assessment Testing will be available Nov. 15 without an appointment. During this time a counseling appointment can be made to assist you with your career path and answer any questions that you may have regarding the registration process.
