Promotion ceremony

The Edwards Air Force Base Enlisted Promotion Ceremony will be 3 p.m., Nov. 30 in the Base Theater. Promotee’s and their commanders will be in service dress uniform. Attendees’ uniform will be uniform of the day.

Dorm Dwellers Cookie Drive

It’s that time of the year again for our annual Dorm Dweller’s Cookie
Drive! Each year the Edward’s community supports its unaccompanied
Airmen during the holiday season by giving each Airman “A Taste of Home”
by providing yummy homemade cookies.
Cookies can be dropped off in disposable containers at the Airman & Family Readiness Center in Bldg. 3000 Dec. 5 or the day before. Drop off time is 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

2012 Angel Tree

This year’s Angel Tree is up and located in the entrance to the Base Exchange through Dec. 13. The tree has tags with age and gender of a child of a military family here at Edwards. Folks can purchase clothes or age appropriate toys and drop them in the Angel Tree box. The program is a way of giving back to the families that support the warfighter. The winter season is all about children, families and spreading holiday cheer.

Rosamond Old Town Merchants

The Rosamond Old Town Merchants will host the 17th Annual Rosamond
Parade of Lights on Diamond Street Dec. 1. Entertainment will start at 5:15 p.m. with the parade beginning at 6 p.m. Come out and see the beautifully decorated floats from across the Antelope Valley. A trophy presentation will be presented at the end. For more information, call (661) 256-8141.

December Training Day change

The December training day for Edwards AFB has been moved from Dec. 3 to Dec. 10. In conjunction with this change, the 412th Medical Group will be open for normal business Dec. 3 and closed Dec. 10.

Museum closure

The Air Force Flight Test Museum will close Dec. 22 and reopen Jan. 2, 2013.

California City Little League signups

Early bird sign-ups for Cal City Little League will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Dec. 1. The cost is $70, and sign-ups will be held at the ACE Hardware store. Parents must bring three types of appropriate identification of residency and birth certificate of player.

Retirement ceremony

A retirement ceremony will be held for Master Sgt. George Cox, 412th Medical Support Squadron, at 2 p.m., Dec. 20. The ceremony will be held at Club Muroc. Cox is retiring after 21 years of service.
