Last Desert Wings

This is the last issue of Desert Wings for 2012. The first issue of 2013 will be published Jan. 11, 2013. The Desert Wings staff wish all our readers a safe and happy holiday.

Commissary closure

The Commissary will close at 4 p.m., Dec. 24 and remain closed until 9:30 a.m., Dec. 26.

Housing office closure

The Housing Management office and Consolidated Dormitory Management office will both be closed for business Dec. 24 in observance of the Family Day, and Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas Day. The offices will re-open for normal business Dec. 26.

Construction at South Gate

Beginning 20 December 2012,
Construction began Dec. 20 to erect a canopy covering the inbound traffic check point at South Gate. Estimated completion of the construction is Feb. 25, 2013. Expect possible delays when entering the gate.

Promotion ceremony

The Team Edwards monthly promotion ceremony will be 3 p.m., Dec. 28 at at Club Muroc.

Climate Assessment ongoing

The 412th Test Wing Climate Assessment is still underway. For those who have not yet taken the survey, please take 15-20 minutes and do so. This anonymous survey is an important tool to understanding the human relations environment here at Edwards.

The survey may be accessed at https://www.famnetuca.net/user/login/login02.cfm.

An ACCESS CODE is required to gain access to the survey and has been e-mailed out. This case-sensitive code has been randomly generated for our unit only and is not associated with individual names or other personal identifying source. Upon entry allow yourself 15-20 minutes to complete the survey.

Leadership is committed to ensuring a culture of caring and respect exists within our workforce. Thank you for participating in this important assessment of the human relations climate within the 412th TW.

AADD phone line

The Airmen Against Drunk Driving (AADD) phone line (661) 277-2233 will be down due to a telephone upgrade from Dec. 3 to 13. Alternate phone lines are (661) 275-7157 and (661) 275-7151 will be used to contact the AADD until the upgrade is completed.

Museum closure

The Air Force Flight Test Museum will close Dec. 22 and reopen Jan. 2, 2013.

Annual awards banquet

The 412th Test Wing Annual Awards Banquet is 5 p.m., Feb. 8 at Club Muroc.
