Airman passing

The commander regrets to announce the passing of Senior Airman Fernando R. Flores, assigned to 412th Security Forces Squadron, Edwards AFB, Calif. Flores passed away May 23, 2013. To settle the estate of the deceased, 1st Lt. Kathryn Stewart, assigned to Edwards, has been appointed as Summary Courts Officer. Any persons having a claim for or against the estate of Flores should contact Stewart at (661) 277-6765 or e-mail at kathryn.stewart@us.af.mil.  

 

FSMCE relocation

Employee/Labor-Management Relations will relocate their offices from the first floor of Bldg. 3000 to the second floor June 18 and 19.

The EMR office will close June 18, but will reopen during normal business hours June 19, but may have limited services that day. Business hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

A&FRC ribbon cutting ceremony

The Airman and Family Readiness Center invites everyone to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate their new location at 90 Farrell Drive, Bldg. 5620 (Formerly the Air Force Test Center Conference Center) 10 a.m., June 18. Uniform of the Day for military and business attire for civilians. Refreshments and a reception will immediately follow the ceremony. Please RSVP by June 17.

Changes of command

412th Operations Group: Brig. Gen. Michael T. Brewer invites you to the 412th Operations Group change of command ceremony 9 a.m., June 19 in Hangar 1600. Col. Christopher Azzano will relinquish command to Col. Rod Todaro. The ceremony will be followed by light refreshments and coffee.

412th Medical Support Squadron: Col. Stephen K. Donaldson, 412th Medical Group commander, invites you to attend a change of command ceremony 11 a.m., June 21, in the Conference Center Galaxy Room, during which Lt. Col. Jerry A. Harvey will relinquish command of the 412th Medical Support Squadron to Lt. Col. Michael R. E. Barry. Call (661) 277-2767 to RSVP. Dress will be Uniform of the Day for military and business casual for civlians. A reception will follow the ceremony.

 

Road delays

June 10 through Aug. 1, 2013, base motorists will encounter minor delays as work to improve roadway drainage is performed at the intersection of Rosamond Boulevard and Muroc Avenue.

During this time, Rosamond will be reduced from two-lanes each way to one-lane each way and Muroc will be closed north of Rosamond near Popson and south of Rosamond at South Seller.  The entrance to the overflow parking near the Chapel will remain open. Motorists need to obey all signs and directions through the work area.
