Residents must sign lease in order to remain in family housing after privatization
Corvias Military Living is set to assume responsibility of Edwards AFB’s family housing operations beginning Sept. 1.
As part of the transition process, all service members living in family housing are required to complete and sign the military-friendly lease referred to as the Resident Occupancy Agreement. Corvias will hold lease signing events Aug. 13-14 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center to assist service members with completing their ROAs.
“This is a new experience for military families and our goal is to make it a smooth transition for them, as well as their families,” said J.C. Calder, Corvias Military Living program manager at Edwards. “The lease signing events provide a great opportunity for Corvias team members to reach out to residents and answer any questions they might have.”
The schedule for the ROA signing is based on last name and is listed below.
Last names starting A-C: 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.
Last names starting D-G: 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Last names starting H-L: 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Last names starting M-O: 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.
Last names starting P-R: 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Last names starting S-Z: 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
In order to complete the lease signing process, residents must provide their military ID and a copy of the most current LES. If the resident is a pet owner, they will also need to bring pet documentation. For more information, please contact the Vet Clinic at (661) 275-7387.
In addition to those documents, spouses of deployed service members will also need to bring a Special Power of Attorney in order to sign on behalf of the service member. The Special Power of Attorney document must specifically authorize the signing of the ROA and initiating the allotment that pays the rent. The ROA is similar to a housing lease off base. The ROA is valid for 12 months and renews month-to-month unless PCS, ETS or retirement orders require earlier termination.
At the lease signing events, service members will also receive a Resident Responsibility Guide that outlines policies, responsibilities and expectations when living on base. Each resident will sign an acknowledgement stating they have read and understand the RRG.
The RRG information is available online at airforce.corviasmilitaryliving.com. A designated area will be available during the events for residents who would like to sign and submit their lease quickly.

The Air Force selected Corvias Military Living to privatize housing after a competitive solicitation process led by the Air Force Civil Engineer Center. The company will be responsible for the construction, renovation, maintenance and management of Edward Air Force Base’s military family housing for 50 years.
