412th AMXS Booster Club to host dinner theater

The Dinner Detective, an interactive murder mystery company, is coming to Edwards Oct. 25 to present a murder mystery dinner show.

The event, sponsored by the 412th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Booster Club, will be held at Club Muroc and is a “one night only” show.

The cost to attend is $55, a portion of which will be used by the booster club to create care packages for deployed service members or aid those at home suffering hardships.

The show runs 5-8 p.m. and during that time, anyone could be a suspect. Performers may be seated in the audience, appearing as guests until they “die” or the case is solved. Guests are encouraged to participate by using clues to try to solve the case and a prize will be awarded to the “top sleuth” who solves the crime.

Tech. Sgt. Steve Muro, 412th AMXS and Booster Club president, said the idea for a murder mystery party originally came from his wife.

“The reason we picked October is that it’s kind of a Halloween type thing … the adults can have their fun that night and the kids can trick-or-treat later,” said Muro.

Dinner will be catered by Club Muroc and served buffet-style with a choice of roasted sirloin, lemon chicken or a vegetarian meal and the bar will be open. Seating is limited to 170 guests, but open to anyone with base access.

“The booster club exists to build the unit morale,” said Muro. “Being maintenance, we have a heavy work load at times and there are times when the commander would just like to show his appreciation towards his people. The way he does that might be through the booster club by having events like our squadron picnic and Christmas parties.”

To purchase tickets email 412amxsboosterclub@gmail.com or call (661) 794-2632 and leave a message. A table at the Base Exchange will also be available for tickets purchases 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursdays.
