Before arriving to Edwards, Hansen recently competed at the Armed Forces Golf Championships at Parris Island, S.C., Sept. 15 through 18, where he placed 14 out of 24 service members from the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Army.

The Air Force menís golf team brought home top honors following the 2013 Armed Forces Golf Championship held Sept. 15 ñ 18 at the Marine Corps Recruiting Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

The four-day competition featured six-person teams from the Air Force, Army, Marine Corps and Navy.
The Air Force, led by 1st Lt. Thomas Whitney and Maj. Andy Aduddell, opened strong, leading the field by six stokes by the end of day two.

On day three, the Marine Corps rallied, narrowing the Air Forceís lead to two.

It was all Air Force during day 4, as the Air Force pulled further away from the Corps to take a 29-stroke lead and win a 10th consecutive Armed Forces Championship.

At the individual level, the Air Force took gold and silver, with Whitney in first place at 7-under par and Aduddell in second with 2-under par. Army 1st Lt. Morgan Montgomery shot 1-under par and took home bronze.

The Air Force womenís golf team came in third place for the womenís portion of the tournament.
