Cancellation of HHM Futbol Experience

Team,

The 412th Maintenance Group and 412th Test Wing at Edwards Air Force Base regrets that the government shutdown required us to cancel the Hispanic Heritage Month Futbol Experience planned for Oct. 4.
Support for this event has been overwhelmingly positive; I have no doubt this would have been a first class event celebrating our Hispanic Heritage, promoting fitness and futbol and a great experience for the Edwards community. †I am deeply appreciative of the support that every organization has demonstrated – both on- and off-base. †I am particularly grateful to the Chivas USA organization and all our private organizations and soccer players, your support has been spectacular. However, a large percentage of our base functions have closed, and we can no longer safely and effectively support this event. †You have both my sincerest apologies and deepest admiration for your efforts. †Perhaps we will try again next year!

Col. Robby Weaver
Commander, 412th Maintenance Group
