A Junior ROTC student from Lancaster High School volunteered to try on a bomb suit to experience the weight of the protective outerwear. The Junior ROTC cadets were being given a tour of Edwards AFB with one of the tour stops being the EOD compound.

Lancaster High School Air Force JROTC cadets visited Edwards Dec. 5. During their tour, the group visited EOD for an orientation and life support equipment demonstration.

At the end of their visit to EOD, the group witnessed a demonstration of three and three-quarter pounds of C4 exploding at 600 feet away.

Edwards AFB EOD provides a capability to†locate, render†safe, recover and destroy unexploded test†and training ordnance explosive devices.†The team can also lead U.S.Secret Service and State Department search teams.

The 412th Test Wing Public Affairs Office routinely gives group and general public tours to include students from schools around the region.
